A Sideways Look
Another two photos shot for my final college photography project, which includes an exhibition. The sub text for the work is reconstructing and re-imagining works of Renaissance and religious art. I’m making photos that, whilst staying true and even explaining the original meaning, also brings a modern twist to the subject matter. Last nights studio session produced the beheading of John the Baptist and the ‘hand of God’ from the Sistern Chapel. Other paintings already reconstructed are – Eve, Madonna and Child, the Prodigal Son, David and Goliath, Magdalen Repents, the Last Supper and the Three Graces. I’ve a few more photos to shoot before revealing them to the world, but keep an eye on the blog for images and details of the exhibition.
