An established photographer in Cornwall, Marten Holmes of Duchy Photography has built a good reputation over the years for quality of service, friendliness, flexibility and value for money. Specialising in weddings, bump and baby photography as well as event photography, he describes himself as a social photographer who puts his clients’ needs at the forefront. Although based in Truro, Cornwall Marten is increasingly sought after for photographic assignments in Devon and beyond.
Marten usually works with his wife Helen on all but the most intimate weddings – they make a great team complementing each other. Marten’s style is best described as ‘storytelling.’ It is a blend of contemporary, reportage and traditional styles. The aim is to tell a story – your story.
Marten’s interest in people and his easy manner means he is able to work in a relaxed, natural way to capture great photos of you and your loved ones. Having worked in schools and kids clubs for many years he is able to bring out the very best in children and young people.
Bump and baby photography has become increasingly popular and Marten has both the skills and the patience to bring out the very best in your photos.
The photo shoot can be at a favourite location, in your own home or at Marten’s home studio. For larger shoots a fully-equipped studio can be hired at a very reasonable cost.
Duchy Photography can cover events from sporting occasions to special celebrations, both formal and informal.
For dinners, proms and school leavers balls we bring a pop-up studio and can print on the spot and/or upload to the internet for purchase later.
For an informal, fun and interactive atmosphere at your wedding, corporate event or charity ball you can hire the “Photo Booth Experience.” Guests can dress up with items from our prop box and pose for the camera; or opt for a more formal photo if preferred.
Marten is well known as a storyteller throughout mid-Cornwall having worked in many schools for over 20 years. He brings that same storytelling gift to his photography, looking to tell a story - your story.
Marten primarily photographs people, whether it be at weddings, portraits, bumps, babies and children or at special events.
In recent years Marten achieved a Degree in Photography. He decided to go back to college in order to further develop his creativity and challenge himself to pursue personal photographic projects rather than just taking photographs for commercial purposes.
